Gin Phillips’ first novel, The Well and the Mine, tells the story of one family in a 1931 Alabama coal-mining town. In 2009, the book won the Barnes & Noble Discover Award. The Well and the Mine has been released in nearly a dozen countries worldwide.
Gin has also written Come In and Cover Me, the story of the relationships involved on an archaeological dig in rural New Mexico, and The Hidden Summer, a middle-grade novel set on an abandoned golf course in Birmingham.
Gin lives in Birmingham, Al., with her husband, her children, and her schnoodle.
